Refluxní choroba jícnu je chronicky probíhající onemocnění s multifaktoriální etiologií. Pro svoji relativní četnost výskytu v populaci a potencionální morbiditu je její správná léčba v centru pozornosti všech lékařů. V terapii jsou nejefektivnějšími léky volby inhibitory protonové pumpy, velmi výhodnou a racionální je rovněž jejich kombinace s prokinetiky. Chirurgická léčba má být uvážlivě zvážena podle individuálního průběhu onemocnění.
