Amatérské potápění s dýchacím přístrojem se stalo velmi populární zájmovou činností. Potápěči s dýchacími přístroji dosahují někdy i značných hloubek, narůstá tedy i riziko vzniku specifických poškození jejich zdraví. Předložené sdělení poskytuje přehled patofyziologie, klinických aspektů i klasifikace nejzávažnějších poruch zdravotního stavu potápěčů, jakož i souhrn medicínských kontraindikací k potápěčské činnosti.

DIVING AND ITS INFLUENCE ON THE HUMAN ORGANISM

Amateur SCUBA diving is becoming very popular as a free outdoor pastime activity. Even the deep SCUBA dives are not uncommon, hence the risk of specific health disorders in divers has significantly increased. This article presents a review of the pathohysiology, clinical aspects and classification of the most important diseases encountered in divers, as well as a summary of the medical contraindications to diving as an activity.
