Endoteliální dysfunkce představuje časnou, morfologicky němou fázi aterosklerózy, proto byla zejména v posledním desetiletí podrobena intenzivnímu výzkumu. Autoři ve svém sdělení popisují základní fyziologické funkce endotelu, příčiny a projevy endoteliální dysfunkce, její uplatnění v patogenezi aterosklerózy. Dále se věnují možnostem detekce endoteliální dysfunkce a jejímu praktickému využití v běžné klinické praxi.

Endothelial dysfunction, facilities of its detection and its use in clinical practice

Endothelial dysfunction is the first step in the development of arteriosclerosis, thus it was examined particularly in the last decade. Authors describe basic functions of endothelium, causes and manifestation of endothelial dysfunction and its part in pathogenesis of arteriosclerosis. They also present facilities of detection of endothelial dysfunction and its use in current clinical practice.
