Metabolic, systemic and local aspects of wound healing

prof. MUDr. Luboš Sobotka CSc

Wound healing is a complex process with participation of both systemic and local factors. A sufficient supply of substrates for regeneration processes is a necessary condition, in either form of sufficient stock or nutritional reserves. Special nutritional substrates are arginine, glutamine, antioxidant vitamins and zinc. Regeneration processes are suppressed during systemic inflammatory response, poor healing could be caused by mental stress. Local conditions favourable for healing require especially moisted environment secured by suitable macromolecular background. We reached surprisingly outstanding results in the field of wound healing with combination of hyaluronan-iodide-iodine (Hyiodine). The substance not only secured perfect conditions for wound healing, but also healing processes actively stimulated.

Keywords: Key words: wound, regeneration, wound healing, supply, hyaluronic acid, Hyiodine.
