Laboratory diagnosis of thyroid gland disease

A brief explanation for essence and advances in methodology of in vitro laboratory tests for assessment of thyroid function is defined in this article. Information on a sort and a method of taking biological specimens and on a clinical impact of tests is given. Significant value of an examination and conditions, which can influence results, are discussed here. The review includes the general diagnostic scheme of an evaluation of thyroid disorders with the use of lab tests.
