Infekční endokarditida je závažné onemocnění vyskytující se u disponovaných osob. Diagnóza onemocnění je především klinická, negativní echokardiografický nález onemocnění nevylučuje, pozitivní nález diagnózu výrazně podporuje. Echokardiografie má velký význam v diagnostice komplikací.
