Autor se zabývá problematikou cestovní medicíny - nového interdisciplinárního oboru, který je vzhledem ke stoupajícímu počtu turistů odjíždějících do zdravotně rizikových oblastí stále významnější. Například v roce 2000 bylo uskutečněno podle údajů OSN na 1600 mil. zahraničních letů. Je třeba věnovat pozornost ochraně zdraví cestovatelů, zvláště před odjezdem do rizikových oblastí horkého klimatu. Autor se zabývá problémy žluté zimnice, hepatitidy A a B, břišního tyfu, cholery, japonské encefalitidy a vztekliny, očkováním proti těmto nemocem a jeho kontraindikacemi. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována malárii, jejímu rozšíření, chemoprofylaxi, pohotovostnímu samoléčení a rezistenci plazmodií na antimalarika. Autor doporučuje vybavení cestovní lékárničky a radí co má cestovatel vzít s sebou, zdůrazňuje význam ochrany před členovci sajícími krev a zásady hygieny stravování. Dále se zabývá průjmovými onemocněními na cestách, riziky koupání a vysokohorské turistiky, problémy chronických onemocnění cestovatelů a upozorňuje na význam cestovního pojištění.

HEALTH PREPARATION OF TRAVELLERS BEFORE THEIR LEAVING TO TROPIC AND SUBTROPIS COUNTRIES

The author is spending on the problem of travell medicine - a new interdiscipline branch of medicine, which become in conection with continuesly graduating number of travellers to countries of risk to human health to be more important. E. g. in the year 2000 were acording the facts given by Organization of United Nations realized 1600 mil. flyghts abroad. A great attention we must pay to health protection of travellers meanly before they depart to areas of hot climat. The article spends on problems of yelow fever, hepatitis A and B, enteric fever, cholera nostras or dry, encephalitis Japonica and rabies, to pay attention to vaccination against above named and its contraindications. A special attention is paid to malaria (jungle fever), its spreading, chemoprophylaxis, first help if the person is alone, and in the same way to plazmoids rezistence to antimalarics. The aritcle includes a recomendation how to equip the travel medicine-chest including some advises what to take with, the importance of protection against blood sacking insects and feeding hygiene. Again the article deals in cases of diarrhoeas during the tour, in risk of bath , hight montains turistic, chronic disease in travellers and points out the importance of travell insurance.
