Funkční nemoci gastrointestinálního traktu (GIT) jsou značně heterogenní skupinou. Svojí ubikvitárností a značným dopadem na kvalitu života pacientů začínají ovlivňovat i socioekonomický stav národů. Aktivní přístup k funkčním onemocněním zažívacího traktu vyžaduje nové diagnostické postupy a terapeutické přístupy. Objektivizace subjektivních obtíží u funkčních poruch je zřejmě nejobtížnějším úsekem, na kterém závisí škála klasifikace a terapeutické možnosti.

Functional gastrointestinal disorders

Functional gastrointestinal disorders represent a very heterogeneous group. Being ubiquitous and having a significant impact on quality of life of patients, they have started to show an influence on social and economic conditions of nations. An active approach towards functional gastrointestinal disorders requires new diagnostic procedures and therapeutical management. The classification and therapeutical modalities of functional gastrointestinal disorders are derived from the objectification of subjective complaints, what represents the most perplexing part in diagnosis.
