Článek podává přehled o původcích povrchových mykóz kůže a základní informace o jejich epidemiologii. Pro stanovení diag­nózy je prvním krokem klinické vyšetření, dále mikroskopické a kultivační vyšetření. Podrobněji jsou probrány podmínky odběru materiálu na laboratorní vyšetření, aby se snížil výskyt falešně negativních výsledků.

Dermatomycoses - etiology and diagnosis

The article presents a review of causative agents of superficial skin mycoses and basic information about their epidemiology. The first step in making of the diagnosis is clinical inspection, followed by microscopy and cultivation. Special attention is given to the circumstances of taking of the specimens for laboratory investigation, in order to decrease the proportion of false negative results.
