V posledních letech dochází k značnému rozvoji nefarmakologické léčby fibrilace síní. Kromě paliativní metody sloužící ke kontrole komorové odpovědi při arytmii, kterou je katetrizační ablace nebo modifikace AV vedení, přicházejí nové možnosti síňové stimulace, defibrilace, kurativní chirurgické a katetrizační ablace. Nejperspektivnější se jeví katetrizační ablace.

Practical aspects of atrial fibrilation treatment: non-pharmacological methods

Recent years have witnessed significant development of non-pharmacological treatment of atrial fibrillation. Besides catheter ablation or modification of AV conduction that represents paliative method for ventricular rate control, novel therapeutic options are increasingly used such as atrial pacing, defibrillation, surgical and/or catheter ablation. The most promissing appears to be catheter ablation.
