Náhlá srdeční smrt je v 85% způsobena maligní arytmií. Prevence náhlé smrti u pacientů, kteří dosud maligní arytmii neprodělali, je v současnosti u rizikových jedinců zajišťována implantací kardioverterů-defibrilátorů. Článek pojednává o současných možnostech rizikové stratifikace nemocných s ischemickou chorobou srdeční, dilatující kardiomyopatií, srdečním selháním a některými vzácnějšími srdečními chorobami.

Primary prevention of sudden cardiac death

Malignant ventricular arrhythmias are responsible for sudden cardiac death in 85% of cases. Implantable cardioverters-defibrillators are used for sudden death prevention also in patients at high risk, without a previous history of a malignant arrhythmia. The article describes current risk stratification methods in patients with coronary artery disease, dilated cardiomyopathy, chronic heart failure and some less common cardiac diseases.
