Toxoplasmosis

Toxoplasmosis is a very frequent parasitic infection which in immunocompetent persons causes an asymptomatic lifelong infection; serious disease can be caused only under special conditions like vertical transmission from mother to child during pregnancy or reactivation of latent infection in persons with immunodeficiency.
