Diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm in periferal edema

The article describes the pathogenesis of edema of the lower limbs, gives a brief and systematic review of its the most frequent causes. Edema is divided into two main groups: edema from general reasons and edema from local reasons. At the end the general principles of the treatment are discussed.
