Dyspepsia is a complex of various complains that a patient localizes in the region of gastrointestinal tract. Functional dyspepsia is a disorder not explained by structural and biochemical abnormalities. The etiology of lower dyspeptic syndrome has not been completely explained. The lower dyspepsia is usually divided to irritable bowel with subtypes (morning fractioned defecation, postprandial defecation and debacle), spastic constipation, functional diarrhoea, and incomplete and atypical forms. A thorough history targeted on characteristic signs and symptoms (a positive component) leads to the diagnosis and rules out an organic disorder (a negative component). The treatment consists of life style and dietary changes and medical treatment.
