Absces štítné žlázy jako komplikace biopsie tenkou jehlou

Absces štítné žlázy je vzácné onemocnění s dramatickým průběhem. Vzniká nejčastěji v terénu polynodózní strumy. Infekce může být výjimečně způsobena iatrogenně. V předložené kazuistice je popsán vznik abscesu po biopsii tenkou jehlou. Infekčním agens byla Escherichia coli, která není typickým kožním patogenem. Stav vyžadoval intubaci, dočasnou tracheostomii a byl úspěšně vyřešen excizí abscesu a podáním širokospektrých antibiotik. Je zdůrazněna nutnost přísného dodržování aseptických zásad i při minimálně invazivním výkonu, jako je biopsie tenkou jehlou.
