Těsná kompenzace glykemie a vaskulární komplikace u pacientů

Studie ADVANCE (The Action in Diabetes and Vascular Disease: Preterax and Diamicron Modified Release Controlled Evaluation) byla navržena s cílem zhodnotit efekt snížení hladiny glykovaného hemoglobinu na hodnotu ≤ 6,5 % na výskyt závažných vaskulárních komplikací v rozsáhlé skupině pacientů s DM 2. typu. Větev studie, která byla ukončena v červnu 2007, hodnotila vliv snížení krevního tlaku kombinací perindopril/indapamid a ukázala snížení rizika závažných vaskulárních komplikací a úmrtí bez ohledu na vstupní hodnotu krevního tlaku. Ve druhé větvi studie ADVANCE bylo cílem srovnání efektu standardní léčby vs. intenzivní intervence hyperglykemie založené na gliklazidu MR (tablety s řízeným uvolňováním) na snížení rizika vaskulárních komplikací.
