doc. MUDr. Jiří Herman CSc
I. chirurgická klinika LF UP a FN Olomouc

Compressive therapy is of essential importance for both the treatment and prevention of lower extremity venous disease. It may involve the use of compressive bandages, compressive stockings, or intermittent pneumatic compression. It is commonly indicated based on tradition or empirics, randomized clinical studies are lacking. The paper aims to provide a brief overview of indications of compressive therapy in the prevention and treatment of lower extremity venous disease.

Keywords: compressive bandage, compressive stockings, chronic venous, insufficiency.
