Effect of smoking on treatment with tiotropium

The 4-year UPLIFT study provided a vast amount of data on COPD patients. The subsequent analysis addressed the effect of smoking
habit in relation to the effect of treatment with tiotropium. The study results clearly indicate a therapeutic benefit for all COPD patients,
regardless of the smoking habit and the reasons for treatment with tiotropium in smokers.
