Spondylodiscitis (SD) is an infection of the vertebral column, most often being developed occurring through a hematogenicous pathway
route. Because it is present in older age, frequently in patients with chronic back pain, the diasease is not always considered in the first
place. The A drawback of imaging methods is athe fact, that the results mayight be negative inat the beginning. A minimum of six weeks
of antibiotics treatment is a causal therapy for the disease. In the case of a local progression, a surgical intervention is indicated. In the
article there presents are two case reportscasuistics of SD patients. Both of them were repeatedly hospitalized, the average time to name
the diagnosis was two months. The reason for the diagnostic difficulties struggles was not only chronic back pain in the patient’s history,
but also negative initialintroductory results of imaging studies.
