Kolem klimakterické medicíny, podávání hormonální substituční (HRT) terapie i kolem indikací a kontraindikací HRT (hormonal replacement therapy) vznikla postupně řada nepravd, dohadů, obav, nesrovnalostí, mýtů i lží. Některé mýty jsou, bohužel, velmi dobře implantované pod kůži našich pacientek i kolegů lékařů. Neuvážený výrok lékaře, zpochybnění indikace či efektu léčby může znamenat konec spolupráce pacientky a ve svých dlouhodobých důsledcích poškození jejího zdraví.

Nová generace zázračných léčitelů zakáže postupně našim pacientkám veškeré hormonální léky, naservíruje jim zázračné (a zázračně drahé) čaje, bylinky, krystaly polodrahokamů, vlastní moč či vesmírnou energii v nějaké více či méně nehmatatelné podobě. Zprvu šťastné ženy se několik let marně léčí a potom je zklamané s osteoporózou a ischemickou chorobou srdeční opět uvidíme ve svých ordinacích.
