Individualitu rodičky je nutno respektovat, ale při akceptování jejích přání existuje určitá hranice - nesmí to být na úkor zdraví ženy a novorozence. V prevenci mnoha nedorozumění může významnou roli sehrát znalost práv pacientů. Část rodiček už si je svých práv vědoma, ale pravdou je, že při pokročilých bolestech je často ze strany nás zdravotníků -převálcována-.
