The diabetic foot syndrome means lesions (ulcerations and gangrene) present on the feet in diabetes mellitus patients. The diabetic neuropathy, peripheral arterial disease - ischaemia, foot deformity and infection are all important factors that predispose the foot to ulceration. For practical purposes, the diabetic foot can be divided into three entities: the neuropatic foot (in which neuropathy predominates and there is a good circulation), the ischaemic foot (with no concomitant neuropathy) and neuroischaemic foot with both neuropathy and ischaemia. The management is different in all groups. Because the most diabetic ulcerations are caused by an...

A differential diagnosis of idiopathic inflammatory myopathies covers several situations, which may lead to muscle weakness. In the classical dermatomyositis case, the diagnosis is not difficult, however, in many polymyositis cases, particularly in those non-responsive to treatment, it is always necessary to differentiate several other diseases. These include neurological disorders, muscle dystrophies, metabolic and endocrine diseases, mitochondrial myopathies, malignant diseases, sarcoidosis and also adverse reactions to drug treatments, such as with statins or fibrates. Myositis is often amenable to treatment with the use of higher doses of glucocorticoids,...

Acute renal failure in intensive care is very frequent complication and its development markedly worsen prognosis of the patients. In case of development of multiorgan failure mortality increase up to 80% (1,2). In intensive care units, we find in most cases renal affection connected with acute tubular necrosis, with the impact of ischemic or toxic influences or both together. This paper review quiet frequent cause of renal lesion by myoglobin from rhabdomyolysis. The most frequent cause of its origin is trauma and intoxication. Some papers even mention rhabdomyolysis as a cause of acute renal failure in 5–10 % (2). Whereas transient hemodialysis...

Incidence of food allergy (FA) is a worldwide problem and it appears to be on the increase. FA affects 2–4% of adults and 6–8% of infants under 3 years of age. FA are averse immunological reactions on food that might be due to IgE or non-IgE mediated immune mechanisms. Food allergens according to sensibilisation ability are dividend to class 1 with sensibilisation by oral route (e.g. milk, egg, peanut, fish) and class 2 (e.g. birch) with sensibilisation by inhalation. Diagnosing of food allergy is establish by history, skin prick tests and or in vitro tests (measurement of food-specific IgE antibodies in patient’s blood sample). It...
