The treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) represents a major problem given the prevalence of this condition in the population and the resulting socioeconomic impacts. The etiology and pathogenesis of CRS are discussed. The treatment involves both conservative and surgical methods. In addition to the standardly used topical steroids, conservative therapy mainly employs so-called immunolides (e.g. erdosteine), systemic pharmaceuticals that block the mediators involved in the complex chain of CRS development. In treating high blood pressure, both diuretics and beta blockers are among the primary drugs for blood pressure control; however, due to their metabolic adverse effects, they are not among the first-choice drugs in uncomplicated hypertension. Ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn disease (CD) are chronic intestinal inflammatory diseases that can present as bloody diarrhea, abdominal pain, and malnutrition. Collectively, these disorders are referred to as inflammatory bowel disease. The aim of our paper is to present cryoglobulinemia, its types, and clinical manifestation. We describe a case report of a patient with newly diagnosed cryoglobulinemic vasculitis associated with multiple myeloma. Mild symptoms of cryoglobulinemia, however, were present and unrecognized for more than 10 years. The work describes the problems of urinary incontinence in women. It focuses on the contemporary definition, the distribution of individual types of incontinence, diagnostics and treatment. Urinary incontinence in women is becoming a serious socio-economic problem. Treatment is complex due to multifactorial causes. It includes a variety of therapies. In order that these procedures be most effective, they should focus on careful diagnosis and the treatment should be individually directed.The main therapeutic procedures include physical therapy with rehabilitation, medical and surgical treatment. Many diabetic patiens try to help themselves using complementary and alternative medicine preparations. In this review there are discussed the most frequently over-the-counter sold products that could influence the glucose and lipid metabolism. Psyllium, Aloe vera, Coccinia indica, Gymnema Sylvestre and Trigonella foenum – graecum have slight hypoglycaemic effect, cinnamon and Momordica charantia influence the level of insulin resistance and garlic, green tea extract and ginkgo biloba extrakt decrease the total and LDL cholesterol level.
